Fryer 101

Posted by

When purchasing a fryer, you simply can’t walk into a dealership and ask which fryer is the least expensive. There are many things to consider about your operation that will provide the best return for your money. Here are key questions that should be answered before making your selection:

1) What types of food will you be preparing in your fryer? Given the answer, we can recommend either an open pot or a tube fryer.

2) What is your operation’s discipline? How often do you intend to filter your oil? How often will you be using your fryer?

3) How much food volume will be put through your fryer? How many fryer compartments will you need?

4) Do you want an automatic filtering system built into your fryer?

5) How much space do you have in your kitchen? How much space do you have under your exhaust hood?

6) Do you need an electric (what voltage) or gas unit (natural gas or LP)?

7) Do you have the appropriate utilities available to service your new fryer? If not, you need to call an electrician and/or plumber.

8) Will you be using solid shortenings or liquid?

9) Do you want your fryer to be Energy Star?

10) Finally, after answering all of the above questions, then you can ask yourself what your budget is!

FoodEquipmentDepot.com offers the best variety of fryer options in Pitco and Frymaster. Whether your operation calls for an economy fryer, or if you need a more advanced frying system with built-in filtration and programmable controls, we have what you are looking for.
